My First Guitar

My First Guitar is the creation of Dee-Dee MacLeod-Wilson.

Dee-Dee is a Kiwi (New Zealand) Mom that has always wanted to learn the guitar and is now realizing her passion.

It all began when her teenage daughter joined a Chick Rock Band at High School.

Her daughter wanted to play the drums but as they already had a drummer and there wasn’t room for a drum kit in her room, the suggestion was made to learn the Bass Guitar for it’s rhythmic qualities and the group needed a Bassist.

Once there was a guitar in the house, that nagging desire to play gave birth to the purchase of an acoustic guitar, followed by an acoustic bass guitar, and an electric guitar to go with the electric bass guitar.

Dee-Dee has fond childhood memories of seeing her Father and Uncle kitting up for a gig, sing a longs around a beach camp fire on summer evenings and impromptu jam sessions whenever the family gathered.

Dee-Dee’s first stringed instrument she learned to play at the age of 6 years old was a ukulele.

This website was created to inform other would be guitar learners so they too can share in the pleasure of learning to play their favorite tunes. No matter your age, anyone can learn to play acoustic, bass, electric, or lead guitar.
